"Floating Dress", Hussein Chalayan's F/W 2011 show.(above video)
The concept of this collection is to explore Japanese culture within the DNA he's established over the past ten years. The technology that went
into this piece--a gold spray painted shell that the model steps into--is staggering. It's remote controlled, and those little crystal pollens attached
to it are all spring loaded to individually release via remote control as well. "The dress symbolizes new beginnings," Chalayan said. "It can move and go on a journey."

Meet the high tech fashion with Studio XO
01/19/2015
I remember since I was a child I always draw a lots of fantasy clothes with a pair of flying wings or shining aura. But I never get a chance to find out how to turn those ideas into reality However, by studying the tech lab class in KSU which is about exploring the most exciting fashion area which called high tech fashion, I eventually find out everything will be possible with the high technology. I always think leather-curing, digital prints, 3D print is wonderful enough to make garments innovative. However I just got shocked by the amazing mind-blowing fashion creations from London-based fashion/technology company Studio XO. Suddenly, I feel if I need start to learn some technology science to gain more knowledge and understand the process of design and creating our future fashion. Everything is about revolution. Like before, paper and pen is the best friend of designers, but now computer design programs are very necessary for every designers to learn. I believe after few years, tech fashion will be the major trend in the fashion world. Applying science and technology to fashion is not just for making garments look cool and pretty, but also functional and sustainable.

The beautiful laser cut fashion trend
01/31/2015
Every time when I trying to shopping online, it apparently looks like laser cutting is very popular in the fashion industry currently. From Sake Fifth Avenue's designer wear to ASOS' street wear brands, laser cutting is the most powerful design elements for different kinds of markets with totally different price point from under hundred to thousands. There are some amazing laser cutting fashion pieces I would like to share.
Ensuk Laser Cut Textiles (right pic)
This is a very cool laser cutting design. It's not like the normal 2D laser cut surface, however the design pattern is very delicate. bend and fold the cutting pattern into origami-like structures that create an amazing avant-garde effect on the body.
Historical reference/designer reference for the laser cut project
02/12/15
The historical reference for my laser cut project is the Chinese traditional paper cutting pattern. I think Chinese traditional paper cut is a very delicate and beautiful art and there are always an interesting story behind it. The following Chinese paper cut work which combine the butterfly, flowers, rabbit to represents a beautiful wonder land. It is a great resource which connect to my inspiration.
The left picture is the designer reference for my laser cut project . This is a Laser Cut Textile work of Ensuk. I think it is great to showing different dimention by cutting out and 3D fabrication. And it's also a great way to be sustainable.
